Caitlin is a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor and has the following certifications:
- ACTION Personal Training – Personal Trainer
- American Council on Exercise (ACE) - Personal Trainer
- American Council on Exercise (ACE) – Group Exercise Instructor
Caitlin has a B.S. in Sports and Fitness Management with a minor in Psychology from Michigan Technological University. Caitlin is passionate about helping others achieve their goals and maintain a healthy lifestyle. She has over 5 years of experience with all fitness levels.
Angela is a Group Exercise Instructor and has the following certifications:
- Certified Spinning instructor
- American Council on Exercise (ACE) - Group Exercise Instructor
Angela has a B.S. in Health Fitness and Prevention and Rehabilitation from Central Michigan University along with a M.S. in Biology with a concentration in Exercise Science from Michigan Technological University. She loves teaching group exercise classes and motivating others to be active in fun environments.
Susan is a Personal Trainer and Group Exercise Instructor and has the following certifications:
- National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA) – Personal Trainer
- American Council on Exercise (ACE) – Personal Trainer
- Certified Yoga Instructor
- Certified Spinning Instructor
Susan has been an exercise professional for years. Along with the above certifications, she's also completed training in posture analysis and breast cancer recovery exercise. She has extensive experience working with individuals with chronic conditions and functional training for the more mature client. Susan's goal is to keep clients strong, active and healthy at any age.
Laurie Smith is a personal trainer with the following certifications:
- Certified Spinning instructor
Laurie has been a certified spinning instructor for 13 yrs. Laurie has trained others to run their first 5k to a full marathon. Also passionate about triathlons, Laurie has helped others to finish a sprint to a 1/2 Ironman triathlon. Laurie has been married for 28yrs and has 4 children. Practicing what she preaches, Laurie has finished several marathons including Boston and 2 full Ironman triathlons. Laurie's motto: "If I can do it. YOU can do it!"
- National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) – Personal Trainer
Douglas has a B.S. in Physical Education and Social Studies from Northern Michigan University. He has taught Physical Education in the Public School System for nearly 20 years. He has over 20 years of coaching experience in High School Sports which include football, basketball, track and powerlifting. Douglas has been involved in physical fitness activities all his life and has trained for and participated in local events such as the Canal Run and Copperman Triathlon. He currently has membership in the NPC and competes in bodybuilding competitions in the Men's Physique and Classic Physique divisions.
Jen is a Group Exercise Instructor and has the following certifications:
- Certified HIGH Fitness Instructor
Jen has a B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Utah, and her hobbies include health, fitness, and nutrition. Jen taught youth and adult dance classes in Utah and North Carolina for many years, and she started teaching HIGH Fitness in 2017. Jen is also a former event disc jockey who still loves to turn up the music, pump up participants, and have a phenomenal time. Her aim is to make exercise fun and feel like a workout-party.
Becky is a Group Exercise Instructor and has the following certifications:
- Certified FITtour Cycle Instructor
Becky is married and has 3 children. During her spare time, you will find her enjoying the outdoors or watching a sporting event with her family. She enjoys teaching cycle class at the Portage Fitness Center. Becky creates motivating, fun and energetic classes for all fitness levels.
