Support groups are an excellent complement to medical care. They provide education and foster emotions that positively influence the fight against illness or adversity.
Bereavement Support Group
Grieving for a loved one is a process. Recognizing your need to talk is one of the steps. Ask for support when you want it, and accept help when it’s offered. Our bereavement support group offers a safe and welcoming environment for you to share wherever you are in the process of grieving.
For more information, please call 906.483.1160.
The bereavement support group meets the first Tuesday of every month from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the UP Health System - Portage Home Care conference room located at 821 W Water St. Hancock, MI. 49930.
Women's Cancer Support Group
This group is for any women in the four-county area living with a cancer, newly diagnosed, in treatment or a long-term survivor. Attendees of support groups will receive many benefits from interacting with others who have been through, or are going through the same thing. The support group will provide a place to laugh a little, and share or learn about resources and tips.
Meetings will be held on the last Wednesday of every month. Contact the people listed below for the location and time.
For more information contact either Angie Van Tassel at 906.369.0261 or Anita Quinn at 906.482.9675.
