  • Tips for good sleep hygiene

    • Go to bed at the same time each night and arise at the same time each morning, including weekends.
    • Make sure your bedroom is a quiet, peaceful and dark environment that is comforting and relaxing.
    • Try to keep your bedroom at a steady temperature, not too hot or cold.
    • Make sure your bed and pillows are comfortable for you.
    • Your bed is for sleeping. Try to limit other activities in bed, such as reading, watching
television or listening to music. Remove all televisions and other distractions from your bedroom.
    • Physical activity may help promote sleep, but not within a few hours of bedtime.
    • Avoid large meals before bed.
    • Avoid caffeine and alcohol close to bedtime, as these are stimulants.
    • Avoid nicotine, as it can lead to poor sleep.
