At Portage Health, we often refer to surgery as the perioperative department. The word perioperative refers to the time and services surrounding your surgical procedure. This commonly includes your admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery.

Portage Health's perioperative department serves patients with a wide range of surgical needs, from those who need same-day surgeries to those requiring more complex procedures.

Our ACU/Surgery suite includes two operating rooms, two endoscopy rooms, three recovery locations and eight ambulatory surgery bays. We are equipped with state-of-the art laparoscopic equipment that allows us to provide many advanced, minimally invasive procedures.
