Dr. McKenzie is board certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a transplant from Minnesota and came to the Copper Country in 1988 in search of snow and Lake Superior and fell in love with the independent, kind, hardy people of the Keweenaw.

As a vegetarian who bikes to work and a proponent of good nutrition and exercise, Dr. McKenzie "walks the talk." He is married, with 3 children, 3 dogs, sundry horses on his wife's horsefarm in Dodgeville, a Kubota tractor, Stihl chainsaws. He is okay with both the Lions and the Packers. His interested outside of medicine include aviation (he's president of the local EAA flying club), music (he's Pipe Major for Superior Pipes and Drums), and silent sports (biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, skiing).
