Heart Health by the Numbers
February is American Heart Month, so there’s no better time to give your own heart a healthy boost. With our Heart Health By the Numbers program, learning how to protect your most vital organ is as easy as 1-2:
February 14 and 15, 7 – 10 a.m.
Stop at Portage Health for a FREE five-minute blood screening and quick checks of your blood pressure, heart rate and other health stats. The blood screening is a full cholesterol panel including total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides and blood glucose. Time slots are available from 7 – 10 a.m. Feb. 14 and Feb. 15. To reserve your spot, please call 483-1153 or email aluskin@portagehealth.org. Time slots are limited.
February 20, 5:30 p.m.
Go to the Houghton High School auditorium on Feb. 20 to get your blood screening results. Find out your blood sugar, cholesterol levels, and other valuable information starting at 5:30, and then at 6 p.m. Dr. LeGalley will help you decipher your numbers and offer tips on how to rev up your heart’s health with changes to your diet and exercise routine. Healthy snacks will be available.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Heart Health presentation. You not need to participate in the screenings to attend. If you’ve recently had a blood workup, you can bring those results with you for analysis.
