HOUGHTON – Officials from Portage Health provided insight into the organization’s past and future Friday at the Memorial Union Building during the healthcare organization’s “annual update to the community.”

Jim Bogan addresses the crowd of nearly 100 Friday at the Memorial Union Building on Michigan Tech's campus.
The presentation featured remarks from Portage Health President/CEO Jim Bogan, CFO Brian Donahue, Vice President of Quality Betty MacInnes and Director of Communications and Marketing Kevin Store.
All four spoke to the hospital’s success in the past year. This was highlighted by above average marks in patient satisfaction, meeting nearly all internal quality goals and a stable financial performance during fiscal year 2012.
The organization’s future was also discussed, including what affect the Affordable Care Act could have, and what proactive steps the hospital is taking to ensure quality healthcare remains a focus in the community.
The annual update to the community comes on the heals of the publication of the 2012 Annual Report in late December. The report is available at portagehealth.org/annualreport.
