HOUGHTON - Today, Portage Health Senior Meals Director Jennifer Szubielak accepted a $946.66 check from the
Shopko Foundation.

“This is a wonderful bonus for our organization,” said Szubielak. “This money will help us continue to provide more than 85,000 meals a year to residents in Houghton and Keweenaw counties.”
The money was awarded through Shopko Foundation’s Community Charitable Grant program, which was established to support charitable non-profit organizations through limited funding of local programs and events in Shopko communities.
“The foundation is pleased to recognize the good work you do and applauds your effort and commitment to support your community,” writes Michelle A. Hansen, the foundation’s program manager, in a letter that accompanied the check.
