HANCOCK – Portage Health Home Care and Hospice
is hosting hospice volunteer training sessions on March 13 and March 15 from 6 to 9 PM.
The training is free and prospective volunteers are required to preregister and attend both sessions.
"People who volunteer for hospice will typically tell you it is the most rewarding experience they've ever encountered," said Marianne Berghefer, hospice volunteer and bereavement coordinator.
This training serves as a crucial bridge between volunteers gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to work with hospice patients, families and professionals. Volunteers are needed for direct patient respite care, pet therapy, clerical assistance, fundraising and much more.
