HANCOCK – Portage Health has expanded home care and hospice services to include Baraga and Ontonagon counties.
The added services will assist in providing needed care to patients in those counties who were previously served by Aspirus Superior Home Health and Hospice.
“We are excited to expand Portage Health's services to cover more of the western Upper Peninsula,” said Tammy Carroll, RN, director of Portage Health Home Care and Hospice. “Portage Health will be able to offer a level of service that provides enhanced continuity of care for our patients."
Portage Health has already hired several nurses that have been providing care to the Aspirus Superior Home Health and Hospice patients in these counties.
"We want these patients to experience a seamless transition to our services," Carroll said.
Portage Health Home Care and Hospice already serves Houghton and Keweenaw counties. Services provided include skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work and home health aides.
