One of the most painful and assuredly season-ending injuries in all of sports is anything related to the ACL, which is why the Portage Health Rehab staff is hoping to help local athletes learn more about the injury, and how an athlete can help prevent it.
Staff from Portage Health Rehab is hosting a free ACL injury prevention lecture on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m. at the rehab office inside of Portage Health University Center.
“This is one of the hardest injuries to rehab from, and can quickly put an athlete on the side lines for six months or more,” said Katie Temple, PT, DPT. “At these lectures we will present the mechanism of the injury, talk about the latest research on ACL injuries and present preventative treatment ideas for athletes.”
Erin Nuttall, ATC, PTA, and Mallory Rojewski, PT, DPT, will join Temple presenting at the lecture. The public is invited to attend this free event, especially athletes and their families.
Following the lecture will be a short question-and-answer session, and time for free consults by Portage Health’s licensed physical therapists.
RSVP to the event on Facebook, and you could win a prize at the event. Light snacks will be served. Visit portagehealth.org/rehablectures to learn more about Portage Health Rehab’s lecture series.
