Massage for Cancer Patients

Serenity and health massage therapy is available for those living or recovering from cancer.

Nationally certified massage therapist Angel Janssen provides free massage therapy for Portage Health patients being treated for cancer. Angel has been practicing massage for more than 20 years and is trained in a variety of massage therapies.She has extensive training in massage for people challenged by cancer and she feels it is an important aid in returning to health after the disease.

Massage is a natural path to better health. It can help relieve pain, stimulate health and restore a sense of peace. Cancer-specific massage is much different than traditional massage. It is much more gentle.

Each massage is tailored to the needs of the individual. Massage is appropriate to accompany any stage of treatment — chemotherapy, radiation, before surgery or after surgery.

Massage sessions take place at the Cancer Care office at Portage Health - Hancock.
