Portage Health’s Laboratory is the Western Upper Peninsula’s most extensive medical laboratory. The Portage Health Laboratory is home to the area’s only full-time dedicated pathologist, the region’s only molecular diagnostics, and home to the highest quantity and quality of modern testing technology.
Portage Health can perform more than 95 percent of all needed lab tests on site, which means your sample doesn’t leave our campus before results are provided. For many tests, particularly if needed by Michigan’s only Level-III ACS-verified Trauma Center, we can provide results in a matter of minutes, not hours or days. Some of our services include molecular testing, microbiology, chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, coagulation, pathology, histology and the area’s largest blood bank.
