Blood Draws (Phlebotomy)

For most people, the laboratory, as they know it, is more than a half a dozen people that work for Portage Health as phlebotomists.

Portage Health’s phlebotomy offerings stretch from Lake Linden to Ontonagon with more than half a dozen phlebotomists using safe and modern techniques to draw blood for a slew of tests. Each sample is drawn and then sent to the lab for testing.

Our phlebotomists have all completed advanced training in their art and take great pride in making the process as comfortable for patients as possible.

In total Portage Health does about 180 draws a day, with draws taking place at the Ontonagon Clinic, Lake Linden Clinic, University Center Clinic and at Portage Health’s Main Campus in Hancock.
