The celebration of Better Hearing and Speech Month is underway at Portage Health. The Portage Health Audiology Department and Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) are recognizing the American Speech-Language Hearing Association’s 85th annual celebration. “This is an important time for us each year as we try to make people aware of issues involved with speech and hearing,” said Elizabeth Martin, an SLP at Portage Health.
The Portage Health Foundation is excited to announce the date for the 2012 Ball and Auction, which will be held on Saturday, May 19, at the Rosza Center for the Performing Arts.The Ball and Auction is the premier annual fundraising event for the Portage Health Foundation, which is a charitable non-profit organization established in 1990 to support the mission of Portage Health.
More than 120 people attended Saturday’s A Day for Women event, up more than 20 percent from last year.“It was another nice jump in numbers for us,” said Angela Luskin, community health director at Portage Health. “It seemed like everyone left satisfied again this year.”
Phase one of the highly anticipated Portage Health-University Center expansion and renovation is now completed. This morning the expanded area of the clinic opened for patients in Houghton, including the new lobby area, exam rooms and a complete renovation of the Houghton Apothecary.
